As of June 27, 2018, Augment will no longer be supporting the plugins listed below.

While these plugins will continue to be available for download, users will no longer receive updates, technical support, or bug fixes. As an alternative, export your 3D models in the format recommended in the chart below for the best Augment experience.

Edit Colors

When no texture is assigned to the model, the color controls the material parameter.

Diffuse = material color

To set the color, click on the Diffuse box to open the color selection window.

Choose from the selection of basic colors or pick a color from anywhere on your screen.

You can also create your own color using the hue square to select a tint and gray scale to lighten or darken the tint. Once the color is correct, you can save it by clicking “add to custom colors.”

NOTE: Depending on your computer operating system, your color selection window may be displayed differently.

Link a Texture

Click the folder in the Parameters window to select the file on your computer (jpg, bmp, png, tga, or gif). Once linked, a thumbnail of the texture will appear. To remove the texture, click on the red cross.

You can link a file for each parameter. For example:

  • Specular – manages the color and the level of shininess (black = not shiny, white = very shiny). Selecting a color or colored texture will tint the specular.
  • Transparent – allows you to add a texture to achieve opacity effects.
  • BumpMap – You can add a bump to your model by linking a normal bump texture.

NOTE: To optimize Augment for the largest number of devices, the light display changes when a bump map is added. For optimal results, when using a bump map, link a bump map to each material. If certain materials don’t need one, link a “neutral” bump map (monochrome of the normal map’s mid blue (RGB – 128, 128, 255).
