Augment no longer supports the Blender plugin. While the plugin continues to be available for download below, users will no longer receive updates, technical support, or bug fixes.

As an alternative, refer directly to the exporting manually link provided below.

Exporting a model manually from Blender

1- In the viewport of Blender, go to the menu select export then either Collada(.dae) or
Wavefront(.obj).If you are uploading an animated model onto Augment please select Collada(.dae)

In the export window:
  • in collada format, please select “Include UV texture” and “Include material”
  • in Obj format check “Include UVs” and “Write materials”

Doing so will include the textures and materials in the same folder as your exported model, making it easier to compress and upload to Augment.

After the export is complete, find the exported model file and its textures and or materials then
compress together in a zip archive file.

To upload a model onto Augment, the next few steps are the same regardless of the source of the model.
Adding a 3D model manually

To reduce the polygon count of a model with Blender 2.7:

1-Open the model with Blender then select the object polygon you want to lower.

2-From the menu panel, select the tool to access the modifier panel

3-Then, choose the “Decimate” tool

4-When the “Decimate” window appear, the polygon count is displayed

5-On the “Decimate” modifier window, change the ratio to a number lower than 1.00. For example
0.8 will reduce the polygon count to 80% of the original count.

6-The polygon count is now 80% of the original number.

No longer supported — The plugin works on both Mac and PC.
Blender doesn’t support Cycles Render, please use Blender internal renderer.
