How GDF Suez created a 4 part augmented reality experience to engage its employees
GDF Suez is a global leader in electricity generation. With operations in close to 70 countries, the Group offers a wide range of businesses in all essential areas including electricity, natural gas, and energy services.
To celebrate the 50th anniversary of Liquefied Natural Gas, GDF Suez decided to engage its employees though a memorable 4 part augmented reality experience.
First, all collaborators were invited to grab an iPad at the booth and discover what a gas tank looks like from the inside. Second, a virtual version of the “Port du Havres” was presented in the background of a real model of the famous “Jules Vernes” LNG carrier. Third, employees could scan an interactive flyer and magazine with their own smartphone using the free Augment app to reveal a variety of LNG carriers and ports in augmented reality. Last but not least, Augment developed a mind-blowing virtual reality experience for the Oculus Rift. Users could walk around an LNG carrier.
Augmented reality brought a new element to GDF Suez’s project, giving its employees an experience to remember.
